Improve your mindset: The first thing you need to do is to work on your mindset and never cut yourself off  from trying. You need to have a positive mindset and believe that networking is possible. Valuable connection: Some people believe that you must network with everyone. No! This is wrong. You need to network with people who will impact your lives or business and connect with people that have meaningful value. Don’t just talk with anyhow persons, but network with those who are willing to accept and interact with you.

Set goals : Don’t just network with people, but  have a purpose for networking. For instance your goal might be to collect their business card, maintain an interpersonal relationship, get your dream job or aim at securing a meeting with a big client. If you set a goal, it will help you become focused. 

Conversational Skills: To improve your networking skills, you have to possess conversational skills. This is essential for your network to know you better. Also, when you are conversing with others, it is advisable to do more of the listening  and asking quality questions.                         

Don’t just network : To improve your networking skills, don’t just network, but turn your networks to your friends. That is why you need to meet key people that will add value to your lives. Making the right friends can elevate you for success 

Don’t be in a haste : When you are networking avoid being so quick to get something from your network. Be patient, don’t just ask for something from your network immediately, instead relax and be patient. Networking goes beyond that.

Contribute to your network : To improve your networking skills, you need to contribute to the solution of your network so as to establish a good interpersonal relationship. If your network states a challenge that he/she is facing don’t hesitate to respond.
